Workshops and Symposia

The final workshop of the European project 21SPC02 Traceability routes for magnetic measurements (TRaMM), coordinated by M. Coisson (INRIM) will be held on February 29th , 2024 in hybrid form Registration is free but compulsory for both in presence and remote attendance.

More details on the website: https://www.tracemag.eu/tramm-workshop

The workshop will feature 5 invited lectures focusing on magnetic sensors, measures and their standardization, and can be of interest to research centres, academics, and industrial partners.

The ICMFS2024 conference will take place in Perugia (Italy), July 7-12

Website: https://www.icmfs2024.it

The ICMFS2024 is a satellite conference to the 22nd International Conference on Magnetism (https://www.icm2024.org) to be held from June 30 to July 5 2024 in Bologna, Italy, just 237 km north of Perugia.

The ICMFS2024 continues the tradition of previous colloquia, which started in 1964 in London, UK. The conference will be in Italy for the first time.

The structure of the Colloquium will be a single-session style. It will consist of invited and oral talks given by world-leading experts from research institutes, universities, and industry. There will be extensive poster sessions, where attendants and particularly early career scientists and students are encouraged to present their work related to the fields covered by the ICMFS2024.

Deadline for registration and abstract submission: February 29th, 2024.

Submission platform: https://www.icmfs2024.it/submission/abstract-submission

Spin-based computing and signal processing (SpinCom2024)

Milan 28/06/2024 – Website: http://www.aimagn.org/spincom2024/

This workshop brings together brilliant minds and scientists at the forefront of magnetism and spintronics, focusing on the exciting challenges of computing and signal processing. With a lineup of distinguished experts, SpinCom2024 offers a unique platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Traveling scientists can arrive at any of the three Milano airports (Malpensa, Linate, or Orio al Serio), immerse themselves in the SpinCom2024 workshop on Friday, and enjoy the vibrant city on Saturday (including an organized visit to the iconic Cenacolo Vinciano), before making their way to Bologna on Sunday.

  • 69 Posters
  • 9 international guests (2 CZ, 2 DE, 2 SWE, 1 SP, 1 FR, 1 AT)

On February 9th 2024 at the end of the eighth congress on magnetism of AIMagn, the winner of the ROBERTA CIPRIAN AWARD dedicated to young brilliant researchers in the field was announced. After a careful evaluation, the 2023 prize is attributed to Dr. Lorenzo Tesi (Google Scholar) with the following motivation:

“for his original contribution to the field of molecular nano-magnets. The candidate has 22 publications to his credit, with more than 1300 citations, and is currently conducting research independently as a group leader at the University of Stuttgart.”

During the national congress Magnet 2024, two best poster awards has been assigned! Our congratulations to the winners:

Francesca Brero (400 Euro)
Dipartimento di Fisica, Università degli Studi di Pavia, Via A. Bassi 6, 27100 Pavia, Italy; Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare – Sezione di Pavia,  Via A. Bassi 6, 27100 Pavia, Italy;
